Finhollow - Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
Finhollow is an aquarium companion app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the App collects, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. It matches, category by category, the “App Privacy” information shown on the App Store product page.
1. What stays on your device
Everything you create in the App is stored only on your device: your fish’s name, which fish is on display, its hunger / mood / cleanliness values, your care points, daily food left, what you have unlocked or placed in the tank, and your sound and haptics switches. This content is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and it is not part of any of the categories listed below. There is no account and no login.
To erase it, open Settings → Start over inside the App and confirm with Erase, or delete the App from your device.
2. Data that is collected, linked to you, and used to track you
The App shows advertising and measures how those ads perform. For that purpose the advertising and analytics SDKs listed in section 4 collect the following, link it to your identity, and use it to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies:
- Device ID (such as the advertising identifier / IDFA) - used for analytics, app functionality, developer’s advertising and third-party advertising.
- Advertising Data (which ads were shown, clicked, or converted) - used for analytics, developer’s advertising and third-party advertising.
- User ID (an identifier the advertising SDKs assign to this installation) - used for analytics, app functionality and third-party advertising.
“Tracking” here has the meaning Apple gives it: linking this data with data from other companies’ apps, websites or offline properties for targeted advertising or advertising measurement, or sharing it with data brokers. See section 5 for how to allow or refuse it.
3. Data that is collected but not used to track you
Linked to your identity, used only for the purposes shown:
- Coarse Location (approximate, city-level, derived from your IP address - the App never asks for precise location) - analytics, app functionality, developer’s advertising, third-party advertising.
- Product Interaction (in-app events such as an ad being requested, shown or closed) - analytics, app functionality, developer’s advertising, third-party advertising.
- Performance Data (load times, latency, SDK health) - analytics, app functionality, developer’s advertising, third-party advertising.
- Crash Data - analytics, app functionality, third-party advertising.
- Other Data (technical values the SDKs report, such as device model, OS version and locale) - analytics, third-party advertising.
Not linked to your identity:
- Other Diagnostic Data - analytics, app functionality, developer’s advertising, third-party advertising.
- Other Usage Data - analytics, third-party advertising.
4. Third-party services we use
The App integrates the following SDKs. They collect the data above directly from your device and act as independent controllers of it under their own privacy policies:
- Adjust - install attribution and analytics. Adjust Privacy Policy
- AppLovin MAX - advertising mediation. MAX passes ad requests on to the advertising networks it mediates, which in this App can include Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Pangle, InMobi, Mintegral, Unity Ads, Vungle (Liftoff), Bigo Ads and DT/Fyber. Each of those networks receives the request and applies its own privacy policy. AppLovin Privacy Policy · Google Privacy Policy · Meta Privacy Policy
5. Tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency)
The first time you open the App, iOS asks whether Finhollow may track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites.
- If you allow it, the SDKs above may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), and the ads you see can be personalised and measured across apps.
- If you refuse it, the IDFA is not available to the App and no cross-company tracking takes place. The App keeps working exactly the same - every feature stays available; you will simply see less relevant advertising.
You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device, and you can limit ad personalisation there as well.
6. Children
Finhollow is a general-audience app. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App shows advertising, we do not recommend it for use by children without a parent’s supervision.
7. Retention and your choices
We operate no servers and keep no user database of our own. Data collected by the SDKs in section 4 is retained by those companies under their own policies; you can exercise access or deletion rights with them directly through the links above, or write to us and we will point you to the right contact. Refusing tracking (section 5) and deleting the App (section 1) stop further collection from your device.
8. Changes to this policy
If the SDKs or the data they collect change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
